In July 2023, BASF and Vivagro, a French company that specializes in agroecological solutions, have signed a distribution agreement for the product Essen'ciel in the Italian and Spanish markets Essen'ciel is a natural tungicide pesticide, and acaricide made from sweet orange essential oil. It can be used on a variety of crops such as vino grapes, vegetables, berries, ornamental plants, industrial crops, and arboriculture. The lack of insecticide alternatives makes Essen'ciel a desirable biocontrol agent for pip fruits.
