Wax Market Types, Applications and Global Forecasts 2016
Global Wax is made up of many types like animal based, vegetable based and synthetic waxes. Paraffin wax is a petroleum by-product created while in the process of its raw material crude oil is refined into gasoline. Depending on the refining process, three main grades of paraffin wax can be produced like fully refined, semi-refined, and scale. This market has become highly price volatile in last few years due to the crude oil price volatility. The fully refined waxes are widely used for candle making and as wax coatings for paper, film and foil substrates used in the packaging industry. China remains largest producer and exporter of paraffin wax while North America and Europe are highest demand generator and importer for this product. Some of applications are building materials, candles, cosmetics, corrugated board, inks, PVC, polishes, tire and rubber.
